What the what is Yay.Boo?

Yay.Boo is a stupid easy place to host stupid simple websites. To deploy your site, you just drag its contents on to our webpage. Within seconds, it’s available for everyone at its own Yay.Boo URL. Yay!

Why did you make Yay.Boo?

One day we built a very silly website and we were struck by how complicated it was to share something that was just made of html, css, and images. We thought maybe people would make more weird and silly and fun things if they had a stupid easy place to throw those things and so the idea of Yay.Boo was born. Not long after, this website existed!

Is it Yay.Boo, yay.boo, Yay.boo, YAY.BOO, or what?

Yes.

Why is it free?

We want people to be able to share stuff they made and we believe the best way to do that is to make our site easy to use and free.

We do offer a yearly subscription which brings more storage, custom DNS, and the ability to hide the ghost. We hope that can help our little corner of web weirdness break even. If things really go gangbusters, maybe we’ll have ourselves a pizza party.

Why is the file size limit so low?

The file size limit for free sites is 10mb. Our goal is to keep Yay.Boo a sustainable place and that means keeping our storage costs down (though paradoxically we do find some freedom in working with the constraint of a smaller limit). A yearly subscription raises the limit to 25mb.

Who are you?

We are Good Enough, a small team of people who try to build things that we want to exist. We’ve made some other decent apps we wanted to exist too, like Album Whale, Jelly, Letterbird, and Pika.

Why should I trust you with my websites?

If the internet has taught us anything, it’s that you shouldn’t trust anyone! With that in mind, we discourage you from hosting anything private or sensitive here. Everything on Yay.Boo is designed to be public and open.

Beyond that, you own your files and can delete your site(s) at any time. Just sign in, go to the “Your sites” page, and you can find the links to remove sites or delete your account.

What is the point of it all?

Your guess is as good as ours. Probably better, even.

I made a site, but I don’t want it on your servers any longer.

That’s not a question, but you can delete all your sites whenever you want. Each site has a delete button that instantly nukes it from our servers. You can also delete your account and all of your sites will be deleted at once. No questions asked!
